Only initial documents duly verified by the marked authorities of the State Governments and released Indian Apostille stamp by the Ministry of External Matters (MEA). Apostille is done on the reverse side of the initial document by attaching an one-of-a-kind sticker with serial number. Apostille Treatment:

Step 1-- Verification of Papers
All original documents/copies requiring Apostille/attestation from MEA have to be first validated by the assigned authorities of the State/Union Territory from where the record is issued.

For Educational records, The files should initially be proven by the Education and learning Department/ Personnel Advancement (HRD) of the concerned State Government/Union Territory. The authentication should be done with the name and designation seal along with the seal of the Division.

For Non-Educational records, House Department or General Administration Department (GAD) of the providing State Government/Union Region is the marked authorities to carry out the primary attestation. The attestation should be performed with the name and also classification seal along with the seal of the Department.

Commercial DocumentsThese are to be pre-authenticated by the particular Chambers of Commerce. The stamp of the particular Chamber of Commerce need to be affixed on each file together with the name & classification of authorized signature.

Action 2-- Apostille of Files
The Ministry of External Matters (MEA) thereafter, legalizes/Apostille the records on the basis of the signature of the assigned authorities of the State Government/Union Territory/Chambers of Business and attaches Apostille Sticker on the opposite of the Original documents.
