Apostille Procedure:
Apostille from MEA can be done after attestation from relevant State Govt. authorities. Apostille Certificate Attestation procedure is required when a person demand legalization of his paper to be used in a member country of Hague Convention. The procedure of Apostille of certifications from Ministry of External Matters (MEA) of Government of India can be done on all Indian Certifications.

Step 1-- Authentication of Files
All original documents/copies requiring Apostille/attestation from MEA have to be first confirmed by the assigned authorities of the State/Union Territory where the record is issued.

For Educational files, The papers need to first be testified by the Education Department/ Personnel Advancement (HRD) of the worried State Government/Union Area. The verification needs to be performed with the name and designation seal as well as the seal of the Department.

For Non-Educational records, Residence Department or General Administration Department (GAD) of the issuing State Government/Union Area is the assigned authorities to carry out the main attestation. The attestation has to be done with the name and classification seal as well as the seal of the Division.

Commercial DocumentsThese are to be pre-authenticated by the corresponding Chambers of Commerce. The stamp of the particular Chamber of Commerce should be attached on each document in addition to the name & classification of licensed signature.

Action 2-- Apostille of Records
The Ministry of External Matters (MEA) after that, legalizes/Apostille the documents on the basis of the signature of the marked authorities of the State Government/Union Territory/Chambers of Commerce and also affixes Apostille Sticker on the opposite of the Original papers.
