Step 1-- Verification of Records
All initial documents/copies calling for Apostille/attestation from MEA should be first verified by the designated authorities of the State/Union Territory from where the file is provided.

For Educational records, The records need to first be confirmed by the Education Division/ Personnel Advancement (HRD) of the concerned State Government/Union Region. The authentication must be made with the name and also designation seal in addition to the seal of the Division.

For Non-Educational records, Residence Division or General Administration Department (GAD) of the issuing State Government/Union Area is the marked authorities to carry out the main attestation.
