Step 1-- Verification of Records
All initial documents/copies needing Apostille/attestation from MEA have to be first verified by the marked authorities of the State/Union Territory from where the paper is issued.

For Educational records, The papers need to first be testified by the Education Department/ Personnel Development (HRD) of the concerned State Government/Union Territory. The authentication has to be made with the name and designation seal along with the seal of the Division.

For Non-Educational records, Home Division or General Management Division (GAD) of the releasing State Government/Union Region is the marked authorities to take on the primary attestation. The attestation has to be finished with the name and designation seal in addition to the seal of the Division.

Commercial DocumentsThese are to be pre-authenticated by the respective Chambers of Business. The stamp of the particular Chamber of Commerce need to be affixed on each paper together with the name & classification of authorized signatory.

Action 2-- Apostille of Files
