Only original documents duly validated by the marked authorities of the State Governments as well as released Indian Apostille stamp by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Apostille is done on the reverse side of the initial paper by attaching an unique sticker with unique number. The applicants need to submit the following documents/fees as accepted by MEA

Apostille Procedure:
Apostille from MEA can be done after attestation from pertinent State Govt. authorities. Apostille Certificate Attestation procedure is needed when an individual need legalization of his document to be used in a member nation of Hague Convention. The process of Apostille of certificates from Ministry of External Matters (MEA) of Government of India can be done on all Indian Certifications.

Action 1-- Verification of Files
All original documents/copies calling for Apostille/attestation from MEA need to be first confirmed by the designated authorities of the State/Union Area from where the record is released.

For Educational records, The files must first be testified by the Education and learning Division/ Human Resource Advancement (HRD) of the concerned State Government/Union Territory. The verification must be done with the name as well as classification seal along with the seal of the Department.

For Non-Educational files, House Division or General Management Division (GAD) of the releasing State Government/Union Region is the assigned authorities to embark on the primary attestation. The attestation should be made with the name and also classification seal along with the seal of the Division.

Commercial DocumentsThese are to be pre-authenticated by the respective Chambers of Business. The rubber stamp of the respective Chamber of Commerce have to be attached on each paper along with the name & designation of licensed notary.

Step 2-- Apostille of Papers
The Ministry of External Matters (MEA) afterwards, legalizes/Apostille the papers on the basis of the signature of the designated authorities of the State Government/Union Territory/Chambers of Commerce as well as affixes Apostille Sticker label on the opposite of the Original documents.
