Step 1-- Verification of Documents
All initial documents/copies calling for Apostille/attestation from MEA need to be first validated by the designated authorities of the State/Union Territory where the file is issued.

For Educational files, The files must initially be attested by the Education Department/ Human Resource Development (HRD) of the worried State Government/Union Area. The authentication must be finished with the name as well as designation seal along with the seal of the Department.

For Non-Educational files, Home Department or General Management Division (GAD) of the releasing State Government/Union Area is the designated authorities to embark on the key attestation.
