The Ministry of External Affairs outsourced its Apostille/Attestation services from March 1, 2012. The original record is to be submitted directly to the outsourced companies together with a photocopy of the file and also a xerox of the Ticket of the candidate for Apostille India. Only initial papers duly validated by the designated authorities of the State Governments and also released Indian Apostille stamp by the Ministry of External Matters (MEA). Apostille is done on the reverse side of the original paper by attaching a special sticker label with unique number. The candidates need to send the following documents/fees as approved by MEA

Apostille Procedure:
Apostille from MEA can be done after attestation from relevant State Govt. authorities. Apostille Certification Attestation procedure is required when a person requirement legalisation of his paper to be made use of in a member country of Hague Convention. The procedure of Apostille of certificates from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of Federal government of India can be done on all Indian Certificates.

Action 1-- Authentication of Files
All initial documents/copies requiring Apostille/attestation from MEA must be first verified by the designated authorities of the State/Union Area from where the document is released.

For Educational papers, The records need to initially be confirmed by the Education Department/ Personnel Advancement (HRD) of the concerned State Government/Union Region. The authentication has to be performed with the name and classification seal along with the seal of the Division.

For Non-Educational documents, House Division or General Administration Department (GAD) of the releasing State Government/Union Territory is the assigned authorities to embark on the main attestation. The attestation has to be made with the name as well as designation seal along with the seal of the Department.

Industrial DocumentsThese are to be pre-authenticated by the respective Chambers of Business. The stamp of the respective Chamber of Commerce need to be fastened on each paper along with the name & designation of accredited signatory.

Step 2-- Apostille of Documents
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) after that, legalizes/Apostille the papers on the basis of the signature of the marked authorities of the State Government/Union Territory/Chambers of Commerce and attaches Apostille Sticker label on the reverse of the Initial records.
